ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Asian Women for Health’s (AWFH) Community Health Worker Workforce Development program aims to engage, train, and empower un/underemployed minorities who are underserved and underrepresented among community health workers (CHW).
CHWs are on the front line of addressing health inequities by addressing obstacles like language barriers, cultural stigmas, and a lack of health literacy or education to access vital and life-saving services. The CHW role taps into the lived experience and knowledge of their fellow community members to serve as the bridge between them and the institutions with resources to help them.
This FREE 12-week hybrid training program provides an opportunity for participants to enter the public health sector with support from CHW job training to placement with our employer partners.
