While Parkinson’s Disease (PD) impacts 10 million people globally, its effects on Asian Americans and other underrepresented communities remain less understood. Asian Women for Health (AWFH) is proud to partner with Tufts University School of Medicine on a research study exploring barriers and motivators associated with access to care and participation in genetic research studies for Parkinson's Disease among Asian American.

Milestone 1: Qualitative Interviews
Asian Women for Health (AWFH) will support Tufts University in conducting qualitative in-depth interviews across four stakeholder groups (PD patients, primary caregivers, clinician providers, and community advocates). AWFH will analyze and interpret the results in addition to reviewing the translation of research materials in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and Vietnamese. This project is dedicated to the Chinese and Vietnamese population in Massachusetts.

Milestone 2: Quantitative Surveys
Asian Women for Health (AWFH) will support Tufts University in conducting quantitative surveys on caregivers for Chinese and Vietnamese patients with PD. AWFH will additionally support in the translation of the survey.
