🌸 Did you know that ⅔ of the 16.9 million low income women in the US cannot afford menstrual products each year?
🌷 We want to help break down social and cultural barriers to menstrual products and education for our community and create a safe space for menstruating individuals to feel comfortable talking about their menstrual health. 🌟 Want to help end period poverty? For every $10 donated, we will help provide a sustainable period kit that includes a reusable pouch and a month's supply of biodegradable period products! DONATE @ awfh.org/PeriodPoverty |

Did you know that regular sanitary pads consist of up to 90% plastic and take around 500-800 years to biodegrade?
Join us to learn more about period poverty and ways to promote sustainable menstrual health! We will also be packing and decorating sustainable period kits for the people in our community, all period kits will be donated to ATASK. In partnership with Fihri, we are fundraising to help women in our community who don’t have access to period products! Workforce development Graduation (fall 2023 Cohort)
November 29th, 2023
In November, we successfully finished and held a graduation party for our eight community health worker training participants who will be on the front line of addressing health inequities by addressing obstacles like language barriers, cultural stigmas, and a lack of health literacy or education to access vital and life-saving services. Reclaiming our Shores
13th august, 2023
On 13th August, 2023 we celebrated our Reclaiming Our Shores event at DCR Wollaston Beach in Quincy. We had an amazing time hosting family friendly activities on the beach, celebrating the summer and of course, who could forget the delightful ice cream that added the perfect touch of sweetness to the day! 🍦🎉 Thank you to all our participants for being part of this wonderful community initiative.
